A Milestone Moment: The Sale of the Belfair Motel
When we first connected with the owners of the Belfair Motel, there was a sense of cautious optimism on their end — and pure excitement on ours. This was the very first motel we had the opportunity to represent, and we were both thrilled and honored to be considered.
The owners were meticulous in their selection process. They weren’t just looking for someone with a license — they wanted a knowledgeable, experienced, and hard-working professional who could truly deliver. No empty promises — they needed someone who could walk the walk.
To demonstrate our capabilities, we presented a map highlighting over 20 commercial real estate parcels and businesses we had successfully sold along Highway 3. That sealed the deal. We — and especially Kris, affectionately known as “Mr. Belfair” — know this area like the back of our hand, including the true market value of properties along that corridor.
But this wasn’t just a real estate transaction — it was the transfer of a fully operational motel business. That meant a comprehensive valuation was critical. We’re proud to share that the property sold for exactly the price we initially recommended — and it appraised accordingly.
The sellers, Taikyoon (TK) and Ma Oi (MK) Soon, are wonderfully traditional. They preferred every document to be hand-delivered — a process that turned out to be more of a pleasure than a task. Over time, we built a genuine friendship with them, one that we truly cherish.
We also had the joy of finding the perfect buyers: the Yi family. It was an honor to guide both families through every step of the process to ensure a seamless and thoughtful transition.
We wish the Soons a joyful and well-earned retirement. And we send our heartfelt best to Jennifer Yi as she leads the Belfair Motel into the 21st century — blending her hospitality expertise, tech savvy, and vibrant spirit to shape its future.
