A Year in Review from Founder and CEO | 2023

Feb 22, 2024 | The Wynn Group

Looking back on 2023: A Reflection

In 2023, my focus shifted to embodying “grace” in life and leadership, leading to a review of core values and necessary staff changes that strengthened the team. The past year, 2022, remains a gap in our retrospective, for reasons that become clear upon closer examination. It was a year overshadowed by personal health challenges, as I faced a breast cancer diagnosis following a routine mammogram in February. The journey to recovery demanded my full attention and energy, prompting a profound shift in perspective.

With the exceptional support of the medical team at Virginia Mason in Seattle—comprising oncologists, radiologists, breast surgeons, plastic surgeons, nurses, technicians, and countless others—I stand today as a cancer-free individual.

This experience prompted deep introspection, revealing my pivotal role as the driving force behind my business endeavors. While I was fortunate to have an exceptional team in place, I recognized the need to empower them further and establish robust systems and structures for sustained success.

I am immensely grateful for the individuals who have played instrumental roles in our success:

Kris Wilson, our executive partner, embodies intelligence, humility, and unwavering dedication.

Oliver Rodriguez has demonstrated remarkable growth over his four years with us, showcasing a steadfast demeanor and deep commitment to his craft.

Emma Kidrick, our invaluable team member, consistently exceeds expectations with her exceptional skills and unwavering dedication.

Together, we navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship with grace and mutual respect.

Armed with the lessons learned from my personal journey, I endeavored to infuse grace into every aspect of my life and leadership style.

Acknowledging imperfection and embracing it with compassion became a guiding principle for both myself and my team.

We conducted a thorough review of our core values, refining them to ensure alignment with our collective vision. This introspection led to some difficult yet necessary staff changes, ultimately strengthening our cohesion as a team.

Despite these challenges, we achieved remarkable results, closing the year with 74 transactions and over $17 million in gross sales—an accomplishment that speaks volumes about the dedication and resilience of our team.

Looking ahead to 2024, we are poised to elevate our business to new heights.

With the guidance of Schilling Social, our newly appointed marketing firm, we are primed to enhance our online presence and expand our reach. Renewing our commitment to our core values—tenacious, authentic, unconventional, and spirited—we embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Grateful for our loyal customers and excited to welcome new faces into our fold, we approach the future with optimism and determination.
